2014 Peach Bowl Preview

TCU (11-1, Big 12) vs Ole Miss (9-3, SEC)

Date: Wednesday, December 31, 2014
Time: 12:30 p.m. (EST)
Television: ESPN

When it comes to a Gary Patterson coached team, motivation is generally not an issue. TCU still is emerging from its mid-major shell in its third year in the Big XII. A win against the Rebels could complete that process for the Frogs. TCU was three points short of being one of the teams in the playoff, but it was even closer than three points. TCU was one first down away from going undefeated.

Mississippi is a good team. There is no question about that. The Rebels were the only team to take down Alabama this season. That said, TCU will be able to run against Ole Miss and limit the Rebels' running game. Boykin has multiple targets to throw to and, if all else fails, he can take off and run on his own. Expect Patterson's defense to confuse Mississippi QB Bo Wallace, and if for some reason the game comes down to field goals, TCU's Oberkrom is solid and Ole Miss has used three kickers this season. Expect the announcers for this game to pose the question at some later point of the game, “how would this TCU team have done the SEC West?” Pretty well, kids. Pretty well.
