Quantcast Indiana Hoosiers Football: Indiana Hoosiers Football 10-year Review

Indiana Hoosiers Football 10-year Review

College Sports Fans reviews the Indiana Hoosiers, one of the NCAA’s top athletic programs

Indiana Hoosiers Football

While the Big Ten has long been known for its football powerhouses, Indiana has never truly been one of those teams. In the last decade the Hoosiers haven’t posted a winning season, and only once finished with a .500 mark in conference play. The lone bright spot for Indiana during its rough stretch on the gridiron was former quarterback Antwaan Randle El. In his four seasons with the team, Randle El would become one of the most prolific offensive players of all time in Division 1A football. He is fifth on the all-time total yardage list, and totaled 7,469 passing yards, 3,895 rushing yards and 86 total touchdowns.

Indiana Hoosiers Football Future Outlook

It certainly doesn’t appear that Indiana will suddenly launch itself into the national spotlight anytime soon, but the Hoosiers have finished 7-5 and are headed to a bowl game this season. Also promising for Indiana is that they are having success as a young team. There are only 14 seniors on the roster, and the freshman class contains the largest contingency of lettermen. Next year’s recruiting class isn’t looking very strong yet with commitments from just two 3-star recruits and a handful of 2-star recruits according to Rivals.com.
