The Utah Utes, one of the new member of the Pac-12 Conference in 2011, have also played basketball in the WAC and the Mountain West Conference. Utah has a rich basketball tradition appearing in the NCAA Tournament 12 times from 1991 to 2005 advancing to the NCAA Tournament Championship Game. Utah won the National Championship in 1944 and reached the Sweet 16 five times during that run from 1991 to 2005.
