Oklahoma State Cowboys All-Time NCAA Tournament Record: 38-25

Owner of two National Championhsips in 1945 and 1946, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are a 6-time participant in the NCAA Tournament Final Four thanks to an impressive run from 1945 through 1958. While OSU made the NCAA Tournament just once in 26 years between 1965 and 1991, Oklahoma State has advanced to the Big Dance 15 consistently since 1991. A member of the Big 12 Conference, Oklahoma State hired Travis Ford as head coach in 2008 after Eddie Sutton and son Sean Sutton led the Cowboys from 1990-2007.

  • Defeated New York University in National Championship, 49-45

1946 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Baylor in regional semifinal, 44-29
  • Defeated California in regional final, 52-35 Defeated North Carolina in National Championship, 43-40

1949 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Wyoming in regional semifinal, 40-39
  • Defeated Oregon State in regional final, 55-30
  • Lost to Kentucky in National Championship, 46-36

1951 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Montana State in second round, 50-46
  • Defeated Washington in regional semifinal, 61-57
  • Lost to Kansas State in regional final, 68-44
  • Lost to Illinois in third place game, 61-46

1953 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated TCU in second round, 71-54
  • Lost to Kansas in regional semifinal, 61-55

1954 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Rice in second round, 51-45
  • Lost to Bradley in regional semifinal, 71-57

1958 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Loyola NO in second round, 59-42
  • Defeated Arkansas in regional semifinal, 65-40
  • Lost to Kansas State in regional final, 69-57

1965 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Houston in regional semifinal, 75-60
  • Lost to Wichita State in regional final, 54-46

1983 NCAA Tournament

  • Lost to Princeton in first round, 56-53

1991 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated New Mexico in first round, 67-54
  • Defeated North Carolina State in second round, 73-64
  • Lost to Temple in regional semifinal, 72-63

  • Defeated Georgia Southern in first round, 100-73
  • Defeated Tulane in second round, 87-71
  • Lost to Michigan in regional semifinal, 75-72

1993 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Marquette in first round, 74-62
  • Lost to Louisville in second round, 78-63

1994 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated New Mexico State in first round, 65-55
  • Lost to Tulsa in second round, 82-80

1995 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Drexel in first round, 73-49
  • Defeated Alabama in second round, 66-52
  • Defeated Wake Forest in regional semifinal, 71-66
  • Defeated Massachusetts in regional final, 68-54
