Miami Hurricanes All-Time NCAA Tournament Record: 4-6

The Miami Hurricanes are a program that has yet to see the success on the basketball hardwood that can rival that of their football program. The Hurricanes joined Division I in basketball 1985 and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 1998, but after 4 appearances in the Big Dance in 5 years Miami has been back to the NCAA Tournament just once. Miami (FL) has also played in the NIT Tournament on several ocassions never advancing past the NIT Quarterfinals.


1960 NCAA Tournament

  • Lost to Western Kentucky in second round, 107-84

1998 NCAA Tournament

  • Lost to UCLA in first round, 65-62

1999 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Lafayette in first round, 75-54
  • Lost to Purdue in second round, 73-63

2000 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Arkansas in first round, 75-71
  • Defeated Ohio State in second round, 75-62
  • Lost to Tulsa in regional semifinal, 80-71

2002 NCAA Tournament

  • Lost to Missouri in first round, 93-80

2008 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Saint Mary's in first round, 78-64
  • Lost to Texas in second round, 75-72
