Kansas Jayhawks All-Time NCAA Tournament Record: 96-43

The Kansas Jayhawks have one of the winningest programs in college basketball history having dominated the Big 12 Conference and the Big 8 before that. Heading into the 2011 NCAA Tournament the Jayhawks have been no worse than a #4 seed in every year from 2001-2010 scoring a #1 seed four times during that period. Kansas ranks #2 in all-time college basketball wins having won the NCAA Tournament Championship in 1952, 1988 and 2008, and the Jayhawks have appeared in the Final Four 13 times.



1940 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Rice in regional semifinal, 50-44
  • Defeated USC in regional final, 43-42
  • Lost to Indiana in National Championship, 60-42

1942 NCAA Tournament

  • Lost to Colorado in regional semifinal, 46-44
  • Defeated Rice in third place game, 55-53

  • Defeated Washington in regional final, 79-53

1957 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Southern Methodist in regional semifinal, 73-65
  • Defeated Oklahoma City in regional final, 81-61
  • Defeated San Francisco in National Semifinal, 80-56
