Georgetown Hoyas All-Time NCAA Tournament Record: 47-29

The Georgetown Hoyas are yet another college basketball program in the Big East with a storied history in the NCAA Tournament. Georgetown is probably best known for their run from 1982-1985 where they made the Final Four 3 times in 4 years. Georgetown has been to the Final Four five times in program history including the 1984 NCAA Tournament Championship. During the 2010 NCAA Tournament, Georgetown returned to the Big Dance as a #3 seed before being upset in the first round by the red-hot Ohio Bobcats.

  • Lost to Wyoming in National Championship, 46-34

1975 NCAA Tournament

  • Lost to Central Michigan in second round, 77-75

1976 NCAA Tournament

1980 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Iona in second round, 74-71
  • Defeated Maryland in regional semifinal, 74-68
  • Lost to Iowa in regional final, 81-80

  • Lost to James Madison in first round, 61-55

1982 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Wyoming in second round, 51-43
  • Defeated Fresno State in regional semifinal, 58-40
  • Defeated Oregon State in regional final, 69-45
  • Defeated Louisville in National Semifinal, 50-46
  • Lost to North Carolina in National Championship, 63-62

1983 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Alcorn State in first round, 68-63
  • Lost to Memphis in second round, 66-57

1984 NCAA Tournament

  • Defeated Southern Methodist in second round, 37-36
  • Defeated UNLV in regional semifinal, 62-48

  • Defeated Kentucky in National Semifinal, 53-40
  • Defeated Houston in National Championship, 84-75
