CollegeInsider.com Basketball Tournament (CIT) - 2009 CIT Postseason Tournament

2009 marks the first annual CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) featuring another 16 deserving teams who do not get the opportunity to play in the NCAA or NIT Tournaments. Selection of the CIT teams will take place after the NCAA & NIT teams have been announced, and it appears that the CollegeInsider.com Tournament will compete with the CBI Tournament for teams. With the addition of the CIT Tournament, 129 Division I basketball teams will continue their seasons as the CIT has secured Fox College Sports to televise some of their games.

The College Insider Tournament is aimed at rewarding "deserving college basketball programs" with a chance to continue their basketball season and have a chance to play on for a championship. Teams will be seeded and games will be played on campus sites with a single-elimination tournament format. The CIT Championship will also be played at a campus site which will be determined by the seeding of the remaining teams.
