Pacific Tigers basketball notes:
The Tigers have made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament two years in a row. Christian Maraker will have to lead them to their third. Maraker was an important part of the team last year, but he is the only starter left from last year’s squad. But don’t let that concern you too much, because Pacific has reloaded. Johnny Gray and Mike Webb, a pair of senior guards, have stepped up big time this season. They are both tremendous three-point shooters and it seems like at least one of them is hot every game. The Tigers have developed some quality role players in Michael White, Anthony Esparza, Steffan Johnson and Anthony Brown; however, there isn’t any depth after that. Michael White is the only player that has a tendency to get into foul trouble, so the lack of depth hasn’t become a big problem thus far.
