2010 Sun Belt Conference Preview
The Sun Belt has slowly become the province of the Troy Trojans over the past four years. Troy shared the 2006 and 2007 championships before claiming the 2008 and 2009 titles outright. However, a new challenger emerged last season as Middle Tennessee won ten games behind a powerful running game led by star QB Dwight Dasher. With two heavy favorites, who will be the team to emerge as conference champion this fall? With a more veteran team and home field advantage in their crucial October 5 th showdown, I believe that Middle Tennessee will claim their first outright Sun Belt Championship in 2010. The rest of the league will also be fascinating to watch as 6-6 Sun Belt teams have a difficult time earning bowl berths. Which of the middle pack of teams will earn a postseason berth? With a very good offense, North Texas looks like the best bet to make a turnaround and earn a postseason berth. Read each school’s individual preview by clicking below!
