Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Basketball 10-year Review

College Sports Fans reviewsthe Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, one ofthe NCAA's top athletic programs

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Basketball

Georgia Tech has had its share of ups and downs onthe basketball court, but the downs have far outweighed the ups. The Yellow Jackets have had onlythree 20-win seasons since the 1996-97 season, but can at least take solace intheir somewhat improbable run tothe national championship in the 2004-05 season. Despite the lack of team success, Georgia Tech has produced a tremendous amount of NBA talent. Since 1996 a total of 11 former Tech players have wound up in an NBA uniform at some point.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Basketball Future Outlook

The Jackets will be hard pressed to repeat their 20-win performance from last season. The two major factors in the team’s success, freshman Thaddeus Young and Javaris Crittenton, have decided to remain in the NBA Draft. Tech will need big seasons from sophomore Lewis Clinch and juniors Anthony Morrow and RaSean Dickey in order to be competitive. The program can take solace in the fact that they are getting another impact player in the form of incoming freshman power forward Gani Lawal, one of the top prospects in the country at his position.
