Boston College Football Future Outlook

What’s not to like aboutthe Eagles next season?they return 44 letterwinners and 18 starters: 7 on offense, 9 on defense, and 2 kickers. First-team All-ACC quarterback Matt Ryan will be back to lead an offensethat averaged 355.6 yards per game last year. Ryan will also havethe benefit of plenty of experience surrounding him, withthree starters back onthe offensive line, andthe talented running back duo of L.V. Whitworth and Andre Callender. Offensivelythe question will be at wide receiver where Tony Gonzalez, the teams top wide out last season is gone, and starter Kevin Challenger is missingthe entire spring season due to medical reasons.

Defensivelythe entire front four are back forthe Eagles, as well as allthree starting linebackers, although Brian Toal did undergo shoulder surgery and is uncertain forthe fall.the secondary will be anchored by returning starters DeJuan Tribble and Jamie Silva.

There isthe potentialthat Boston College may take a step back after next season with so many seniors onthe teamthis year.the incoming freshman class is solid but not spectacular, with five players ranked inthe top 25 nationally attheir position by Scout.com.
